Beginners Quilting Class
To share my own love and passion for quilting, I am offering this Beginners Quilting class and I’m here to guide you through this exciting journey to success. We will focus on accurate cutting, what a 1/4 seam versus 1/4 scant seams, pressing, not ironing and the importance of reading through the pattern(s)/instructions. You will learn simple techniques for fabric selection, rotary cutting, quick and accurate piecing, binding and quilting, and you will come away with your first beautiful personally created quilt! Our classroom features 8 brand new machines for your use, or you are welcome to bring your own. You will be required to purchase your fabric kit and supplies prior to the first class, these materials are not included in the cost of the class. This Beginners Quilting class is limited in size, so if you have any questions about the supplies or preparation, feel free to come by the the shop, or call me (Debbie) at 908-451-7763.

Economy Quilt Block Foundation Paper Piecing Class
The economy quilt block is a beloved vintage quilt block and now Lori Holt, of Bee in my Bonnet, has revived it with foundation paper piecing. This beginner friendly pad gives simple measurements and cutting directions to achieve point-perfect and extraordinary blocks every time. Lori’s Foundation Paper will be available for purchase prior to the class as well as a wonderful variety of pre-cuts to choose from to begin the fun and impressive journey into foundation paper piecing. Please feel free to call or stop by the shop should you have any questions. Second and Fourth Tuesdays 10:00am-1:00pm Cost:$15 (Plus supplies)

Lori Holt Zippy Bags Class
These Zippy Bags by Lori Holt of Bee in my Bonnet for Riley Blake Designs is a lightweight canvas fabric that includes the pieces and instructions to make a small (9" x 8") project bags. Each bag uses a colored zipper from Lori's Happy Zippers. This fun collection has a defined aesthetic with bright colors, and it'll be sure to put you in YOUR happy place. Gray, white, pink and teal prints with lots of sewing machines, pins, pincushions and stitched text straight from Lori Holt! The class will include your Zippy Bag kit which will include all the materials, including fabric lining, batting, and zipper(s) and thread. Additional kits for small (9 x 8), and large (14 x 12) Zippy Bags will also be available in the shop for purchase. February 10- 11:00am-2:00pm February 21- 11:00-2:00pm

Lori Holt’s Crazy Quilt Paper Block Class Lori Holt Crazy Quilt Paper is used in creating fun, unique piecing out of 10" fabric squares or one Layer Cake. Lay your Crazy Quilt Paper on your choice of fabric, cut along the lines and make a finished Crazy Quilt block that finishes at 8". Learn tips and tricks unique to her patterns and continue to be inspired. The Lori Holt Scrappiness is Happiness Club offers a welcoming space to share your progress, ask questions, and celebrate the joy of quilting. Bring your favorite scraps, swap ideas with fellow club members, and enjoy hands-on guidance as you work through the book’s creative projects. Each session promises a friendly atmosphere and plenty of inspiration to help you turn your fabric into cherished quilts, all while building lasting connections with other enthusiasts who appreciate the beauty of scrappy sewing. Quilting by the Shore will have Lori’s Scrappiness is Happiness available for purchase at the first Club meeting. My Kinda Town Quilt Group Come join us at QBTS and enjoy our in-person support and community along your journey to complete this whimsical paper pieced quilt; My Kinda Town quilt pattern designed by Peggy Larsen for Fiberworks. When you join our group, you'll get to work on this project alongside other club members who will be supported throughout your journey by Kathy, our quilter extraordinaire.
